Individual Sessions

Individual Services

We offer 30 and 60-minute individual speech and language therapy to address social communication, expressive and receptive language and executive function goals. The treatment plan is tailored to the individual client and researched based and effective treatment strategies incorporated.  Parent collaboration and education are an important part of individual sessions

Social Communication Groups

Social communication groups are offered for children, teens and young adults with ASD, social communication deficits, ADHD, anxiety and related disorders that can have difficulty with communication and connection with others. Groups meet 60 minutes each week to address social communication skills such as problem-solving, perspective taking, reading the thoughts and feelings of others, conversation and being part of a group. Social communication curriculum is customized to each group and utilizes the methodologies of Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking as well as other research-based social communication curriculum. Each week, groups will consist of 45 minutes of direct instruction and 15 minutes for parent education.

Evaluations

Evaluations

Comprehension evaluation of speech, language social communication, and/or executive functions skills consist of records review, parent and client interview, informal assessment tools, standardized evaluation, and observation.  A written evaluation with results and proposed treatment plan will be provided following the evaluation.

Communication Connection NW has experience providing Independent Educational Evaluations for students and school districts throughout Washington State.  We have extensive experience in complex social communication, executive function and expressive/receptive language evaluations. Speaking/Consult

Marilea is available for speaking and education on a variety of social communication, pragmatic language, and executive function related topics. She has experience with engaging and informative talks for parent groups, education, and special education professionals and medical professionals.
